The Department of Music, Multimedia, Theatre, and Dance (MMTD) at Lehman College, City University of New York is conducting a search for a dynamic faculty member in Music with a specialty in musicology, broadly defined to include: musicology, music history, popular music, ethnomusicology, and related fields.

Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate as well as graduate music courses and developing an innovative and collaborative curriculum that includes both academic and performance-oriented classes. The tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor will begin Fall 2022.

We are seeking candidates who will contribute to Lehman’s dynamic, growing Music program within a larger interdisciplinary department with a diverse student body and a commitment to working with communities. Candidates must have a terminal degree (PhD, DMA, EdD) with an emphasis in musicology, broadly defined to include specialties including: musicology, music history, popular music, ethnomusicology, and related fields. Candidates must also have an active record of research and scholarship, a commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Additionally, an ability to teach a broad range of subjects (e.g., performance practice, multimedia technology, and interdisciplinary approaches to the arts) and develop innovative curriculum is preferred.
