One comment - Chris’s instructions were perfect, but the website had a glitch after I had cancelled and requested the new subscription at the $29.99 rate (I got a message that “a problem has occurred” or something like that). It looked like the new subscription hadn't gone through, but logging in and out fixed the problem (and I received a confirming email for the new subscription).

- Sign into your Adobe account here: account.adobe.com
- Click on "Manage plan"
- Choose "Cancel plan"
- Choose "It's too expensive" and hit "Continue"
- Click "Continue" again
- Now choose the option for the $29.99/mo plan
- In my case, Adobe threw one last wrench into the works ("we hate to see you go"), but don't worry, you will renew
It's a good idea to copy and paste this procedure into next year's calendar, so you will be reminded of the steps. I hope they keep this loophole until I retire and beyond!
