Not sure why this happened, but I was only able to obtain a $39.99/mo fee. The steps to get through didn’t seem to match, so not sure what the difference is for my account, but at least I was able to lower my subscription rate. Thanks so much for the heads up on this!

One comment - Chris’s instructions were perfect, but the website had a glitch after I had cancelled and requested the new subscription at the $29.99 rate (I got a message that “a problem has occurred” or something like that). It looked like the new subscription hadn't gone through, but logging in and out fixed the problem (and I received a confirming email for the new subscription).

Hi folks, the Adobe sale seems to be on now.  For those who want to renew at the $29.99 rate, here is how I did it just now:

  1. Sign into your Adobe account here: account.adobe.com
  2. Click on "Manage plan"
  3. Choose "Cancel plan"
  4. Choose "It's too expensive" and hit "Continue"
  5. Click "Continue" again
  6. Now choose the option for the $29.99/mo plan 
  7. In my case, Adobe threw one last wrench into the works ("we hate to see you go"), but don't worry, you will renew

It's a good idea to copy and paste this procedure into next year's calendar, so you will be reminded of the steps.  I hope they keep this loophole until I retire and beyond!
